[SOURCE] The actor won the Cadillac Super Bowl Grand Prix, a celebrity charity go-kart race at the State Fairgrounds. “I was just cleaning my garage out yesterday and pulled that old trophy out. It’s huge! We have a trophy case in the house, but I don’t think I can put it on there. I’m afraid it would break it,” says Duhamel from Los Angeles. The debonair former model has an easygoing charm that has sparkled in romantic comedies like “When in Rome” with Huntington Woods native Kristen Bell and “Life as We Know It” with Katherine Heigl. But Duhamel, who is married to singer Stacy (Fergie) Ferguson, also does action-hero duty in the “Transformers” series. As Maj. William Lennox, he battles the nasty Decepticons in the action-packed “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” scheduled to open July 1. It’s his third time costarring in the blockbuster franchise with Shia LaBeouf and the good-guy Autobots. Duhamel spent a brief period in Detroit last summer filming the latest edition of the box-office behemoth. But this trip wasn’t all fun and go-karts. “I was only in and out for a couple days. We were working all the time,” Duhamel says. He was traveling back and forth to promote “Life as We Know It” back then. He recalls shooting in alleys downtown and thinks he was at the old Packard plant. If he’s a little short on details, it’s because the cast and crew spent many months filming in locations from Washington, D.C., and Cape Canaveral, Fla., to Los Angeles and Chicago. When he’s not costarring with robots that turn into autos and other vehicles, Duhamel drives a truck — “that’s why Ironhide is my favorite Transformer,” he says about a truck. He also has a ’69 Camaro, the car he drove for five years on the NBC series “Las Vegas.” “It’s a yellow Camaro with black stripes up the middle, just like Bumblebee in Transformers,” he notes of his car karma. Duhamel relished doing stunts like the one that involved him and LaBeouf being yanked through the sky like a ball attached to a string. Director Michael Bay didn’t want the actors to do it themselves, but they talked him into it. “It’s like this slingshot that you’re attached to, so you’re literally standing on the ground and 1 second later, you’re a hundred feet up in the air,” Duhamel describes. “I remember after we did it the first time, I looked at Shia (and said), ‘Now why did we want to do this again?’ It was terrifying but it was also such a thrill.” Duhamel says he has a blast doing the “Transformers” movies because of the action sequences that require being in top shape. “You leave that set exhausted every day because you’re running and you’re screaming and you’re shooting and you’re falling and you’re getting up and you’re doing it again and again and again.” This time, he sprained both ankles in one day on the set. The first sprain happened when he was jumping over an object and slipped on rubble. He iced it down, taped it up at lunch and then, about 30 minutes later, he says, was running again. “I’m looking up pretending I’m looking at a robot and boom, I sprained the other one.” Fortunately, he had an understanding director, sort of. “Of course, Michael’s like, don’t worry, we’re going to take it easy on you for a couple days, we won’t make you do much running,” remembers Duhamel, who makes even arduous tasks sound fun. “First thing he does is have us all run a whole block chasing after these things, with two sprained ankles, the very next day. OK! VIDEO: WATCH NEW TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON CLIP FEATURING A SEXY JOSH DUHAMEL Before Josh showed off his archery skills, he chatted with Ellen about wanting to have babies with his wife Fergie. “I used to want five, six but you know, probably not realistic anymore. Plus, I’m probably a little more selfish than I thought I was,” Josh explained to Ellen (via HollyBaby). “So I think two is good. I think two is a good number. You can give them the right amount of attention, but whatever. We’re both from Catholic families we like to procreate!” “So you may have like six or seven… you’d ignore the other five or something?” Ellen asks. “I would pick out my two favorites and ignore the others,” he said while laughing.
