Jan 30, 2018   Comments Off on Josh Duhamel and Jimmi Simpson on tackling the ‘Unsolved’ murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls on screen Interviews

Josh Duhamel and Jimmi Simpson are taking on a couple of notorious roles for the latest in a string recent shows tackling famously true crimes.

Duhamel will play Detective Greg Kading and Simpson will play Detective Russell Poole in the USA Network’s upcoming series, “Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G,” which tells the story of the controversial investigations into the murders of both rappers — murders that are still shrouded in mystery amid lingering conspiracy theories about what really happened.

Following a panel for the show hosted at The Black House during the 2018 Sundance Film Festival over the weekend, I sat down with Josh Duhamel and Jimmi Simpson to discuss their involvement in “Unsolved,” what they really thought about the murders of Tupac and Biggie and the “honor” of being able to unveil their latest project at Sundance.

Check out my conversation with Josh Duhamel and Jimmi Simpson below:

Throughout the panel, the conversation kept coming back to the idea that the audience’s perception of these two rap icons will change after watching this show. How did your own perceptions change?

Jimmi Simpson: I didn’t know much about the cases, so everything was new information to me. The depth of how opaque everything that was happening made you realize how much corruption was happening at different levels. Who knows how deep it really was?

Josh Duhamel: To piggyback on that, I knew what the general public knows, which was that I thought Tupac was still alive. I knew about the conspiracies, the suspicions of foul play in the police department and the fact that they were never really able to solve it. The biggest thing for me was — as Jimmi said — is that it was so complicated.

Jan 30, 2018   Comments Off on Josh Duhamel Talks to AD About Buying His First House Since His Split With Fergie Interviews

The down-to-earth North Dakota native tells us about his Minnesota getaway and the newest place he’ll be calling home

Josh Duhamel has had quite a busy year: Yet another Transformers film, in which Duhamel plays William Lennox, premiered, as well as two other movies he appears in; he also had a role on USA’s The Show and voiced a character in the latest Call of Duty video game; he finished work on Love, Simon alongside Jennifer Garner, and is still in the process of filming the television series Unsolved (both will be released in 2018). But perhaps the biggest landmark in the 45-year-old actor’s life this year was his split from his wife of eight years, singer Stacy Ann Ferguson, better known as Fergie. The couple, who have a four-year-old son together, announced in September they would be going their separate ways (although Duhamel indicates to us his living situation has “been unsettled since February”), much to America’s dismay. Here, the North Dakota native talks to AD about the refuge of his Minnesota escape, his interior design style, and his very first bachelor pad in almost a decade.

Architectural Digest: You’ve had a hectic year. What’s the place you go to escape?

Josh Duhamel: My cabin in Minnesota. We just got plumbing in there last year.

AD: The style of your cabin and the style of your home in Los Angeles: are they alike? How do they differ?

JD: Well, my cabin in Minnesota is really . . . Do you know who Terry Redlin is? Look up any Terry Redlin painting and it feels like that. [Laughs] It really does. It’s a tiny little place. It’s not big, but it’s right on the water, and it’s tucked into all of these pine trees. It’s, like, 52 acres of just open forest on a lake, and it’s got this little chimney with smoke that comes up when you have a fire. It’s this whole thing, but it’s nothing fancy, believe me. It’s cute, but nothing fancy. My place in L.A., I just got . . . I am about to close on a ranch-style one-level, four bedroom midcentury modern. I love midcentury modern. I don’t like ultra modern and I don’t like too country. I like it just sort of comfy.

AD: Are you working with an interior designer to help design the house?

Nov 15, 2017   Comments Off on Josh Duhamel to Receive Honorary Doctorate Josh Duhamel

The actor and North Dakota native will be honored with a degree from the University of North Dakota.

Transformers actor Josh Duhamel is getting an honorary doctorate degree in his native North Dakota.

The University of North Dakota will bestow the honor on Duhamel. He’s a Minot native who earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Minot State University in 2005.

The state’s Board of Higher Education approved the nomination this week.

Duhamel has appeared in a string of TV shows and movies, including four Transformers films. Closer to home, he’s been the face of North Dakota in a series of tourism spots.

Minot State doesn’t grant doctorate degrees, so the university couldn’t offer a similar honor to Duhamel. [Source]

Sep 18, 2017   Comments Off on Fergie & Josh Duhamel Separate After 8 Years of Marriage Josh Duhamel, News and rumors

Sadly, not good news today. I am so sorry for this.

“We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”

Fergie and actor Josh Duhamel are separating after eight years of marriage.

The couple shares a 4-year-old son, Axl Jack, and from the sound of it things are amicable.

“With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year,” the couple told People in a joint statement. “To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”

Aug 15, 2017   Comments Off on Kevin Dillon, Dax Shepard, Olivia Munn, James Roday & Dan Bakkedahl Join Josh Duhamel Directing Debut ‘Buddy Games’ Buddy Games

Kevin Dillon, Dax Shepard, Olivia Munn, James Roday, and Dan Bakkedahl are set to join Josh Duhamel, Nick Swardson and WWE ring star Sheamus in The Buddy Games, the WWE Studios film on which Duhamel makes his directorial debut. Duhamel, who last was seen in Transformers: The Last Knight, wrote the script with Jude Weng and Bob Schwartz. Shooting is about to get underway in Vancouver. Duhamel produces with Weng and Michael Luisi.

The film revolves around a group of thirtysomething friends who reunite to play the Buddy Game — a wild assortment of absurd physical and mental challenges. In the process, they heal old wounds, right past wrongs and figure out the true meaning of friendship — or die trying.

Dillon will play Doc, a chiropractor, and the Entourage alum next stars in the Alex Ranarivelo-directed Dirt, playing an ex-race car driver who owns a struggling offroad racing team. He’s repped by Gersh and Gallant. Shepard plays Durfee, an aspiring but unsuccessful actor who takes part in the games. He’s coming of the comedy CHIPS and NBC’s Parenthood. He’s repped by WME and Bailey Brand Management. Munn plays Tiffany, the wife of Buddy Games organizer/financier Bobfather (Duhamel), who hates the whole thing. She’s coming off X-Men Apocalypse and reprises in X-Men Dark Phoenix. She’s repped by CAA and Atlas Artists.

Roday plays games participant Zane, and the Psych star will reprise in the Psych movie shooting for next year. He’s repped by ICM Partners and Principal Entertainment. Bakkedahl plays Shelly, returning to the games after an emasculating injury as the last Buddy Games three years ago. The Veep co-star is repped by UTA and Authentic. Sheamus, who started transitioning from the ring to features in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, plays Thursty, a tough pawnbroker who brings an item of particular importance to Bender (Swardson) and is hiding a secret. Sheamus is repped by Grit Artists, Swardson by UTA and Brillstein. Duhamel is repped by ICM Partners and John Carrabino Management. [Source]
