I would not want to be part of the crew that has to clean up Michigan Avenue on Sunday night.

Thanks to “Transformers 3,” which began its three day shoot around the Michigan Avenue Bridge Friday morning, the crew will have to clean up a pile-up involving around 10 cars in front of the bridge, burning and flipped over vehicles off to the side, and chunks of dirt and fake blocks of cements scattered all over Michigan and Pioneer Court.

Shia LaBeouf’s job, on the other hand, isn’t too shabby. It involves jumping up and down repeatedly to stretch and then running a whopping 15 feet — while holding Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s hand. LaBeouf and his Victoria Secret’s Angel co-star have shot the scene at least eight times (stretch, run to a flipped over car for shelter, repeat).

Josh Duhamel’s morning hasn’t been as action packed. Sure, he rode around on a bike to pass the time and signed autographs and posed for pictures with nearby fans, but he’s mostly been sitting in the shade for hours waiting for his scene.

How’s he dealing with the heat in his all black swat outfit?

“It was good underneath the tree,” Duhamel told me as he signed autographs.

As for the Transformers, I’ve only spotted one car that I think is supposed to be Ratchet. The car is parked in front of the nearest Starbucks.
